Fun filled Weekend !!!

Our weekend was always full of activities, with friends or just the three of us. Weekend is our time for relaxation and spending time together. Last weekend though was soo much fun that my whole body was bone tired and could still feel it 'till Sunday !!!

We celebrated six birthdays last weekend, Six !!! can you imagine that ? It was a group celebration for all our friends who has birthdays in March. We started after lunch by playing bowling at ACME super bowl at Renton.

Look at my hubby doing his strike pose ! Unfortunately it was not a strike :-) still warming up. Does he look like a pro ? you will be the judge !

Gabz woke up so early from her usual because she was so excited to play bowling ! Look at her face, as if she knows how :-) She can't hardly carry the eight pounds ball, yet she loves to roll the ball over and over. Could not even wait for her turn ! Wait 'till you grow up baby, and you will have so much fun beating Mom and Dad !

Dinner as usual was overflowing with food, but my favorite is the super dooper yummy chocolate fountain ! I thought strawberry dipped in chocolate is already heaven, until I tried the cream puff dipped in chocolate. I almost forgot my name....hehehehe.


The guys having a poker session, with Eric's brand new poker table, a gift from us. Donnie I guess won the pot money ! Lucky him.


The party will not be complete without their group karaoke. Eric even bought three more chips from Philippines. I guess they got bored with all the songs on the first one. It sounds like a national anthem already, they have been singing it over and over.

The ladies will not let the guys have all the fun ! This is their first shot of Kahlua, then a consecutive shots of Tequila. The preggy's (now it's the three of us) just have to be contented holding the bottle !! They just have to wait for our return :-)

Well, the party ended past midnight with more than half of the people drunk. One thing for sure, everybody had sooooo much fun !!!

One secret of a party, do it with friends, people you like and love !!! Looking forward to the next one !!!

Say Please and Thank You

When we start teaching Gabz to say Please and Thank you, we thought that it was a daunting task. But then toddlers has an amazing brain that they could absorbed and learn things faster than you think. It just needs patience, constant reminder and relentless practice.

First, we start from the basic by saying Please. Every time she would asked for milk, we taught her to say " Mommy / Daddy, milk please". We will not moved or give her milk unless she said those "Magic Words". At first, you have to remind her all the time, but eventually she was able to say it unconsciously every time. Not only asking for milk, but even when she wants something from us.

Thank You. Goes with saying please, when you hand over something to her, she would have to say Thank you. We did the same thing with her, we say Thank you when she do something for us. Sometimes she tends to forget, but you have to remind her always, until it will come out naturally to her. Patience...patience..patience...

Teaching the basic Please and Thank you to toddlers are important in building good manners. It is nice to see other people faces lighted up every time she said Please and Thank you to them.These are some of the things that cost us nothing.

Storytime at the Mall

It is so nice that mall and libraries here in Bellevue do have story time for kids. Just like yesterday here at Factoria Mall they have story time, a little play time and a little activity time for kids. Gabz loves it there, she had fun time with her friends, twins Danica and Jericha.

This is a regular schedule here at factoria and not only on Thursdays but on Tuesdays as well.

Below are the schedule of story time at Factoria and Bellevue library that I know of:

Good thing about these activity/ story time is that, it is FREE. You just need to go show up there with your kids. Kids will love it, at the same time they could interact with other kids as well.

Shoes..shoes..and more shoes !

Window shopping is a very nice past time and hobby, but a danger to my wallet and budget.

I have noticed in the past few weeks that Gabz has been wearing one shoes every time we went out, that might be shopping, going to the grocery or just walking. I thought, maybe my daughter needs another pair of shoes. Just a thought, but have not reached that decision on buying one. But then, last weekend, we spent a few hours walking at the mall, window shopping. Aha ! Nordstrom has 40% discount on their selected kids shoes. I tried to look around and found these !!! Love it ! tried it on to Gabz and it fits, hmm..why not buy it since it is 40% off. It's a good buy right ?


And found this one too ! It's quite boyish for a little girl, but what the heck ? Gabz has been wearing tennis shoes for quite some time. And it would look good on jeans. So, in the end, I bought two pairs of shoes for her.



When I came home and tried to put away her shoes, started to organized the rest of her stuff as well. Gather them all and found out that she has sooo many shoes !! Keep me thinking, does kids really need these so much shoes ? I only have three pairs of shoes ! a boots, walking shoes and one rubber shoes. How come she has a lot ? Well, I asked her to try them all if it fits, and it does. But she told me that she does not want to wear this and that. Maybe, that is the reason why, she keeps on wearing that one tennis shoes all the time.

Kids at this age, does really know how to choose which clothes to wear, which shoes to match, even though sometimes it does not match and you have a hard time explaining why she has to wear the other one.

Learning their independence and identity ? I guess so.

The Joy of Pregnancy !

I went shopping with my husband over the weekend to find some gifts for our friends who will be having their birthdays this month of March. I tell you there are a lot of them !!! One of them is a pregnant mom like me, but it would be their first and have waited for it for quite some time. So they are very excited about it.

So, I decided to give her this book that I found at Baby's R Us while trying to figure out what to give her. I automatically grab it as it was the last piece. I love this book so much, because I used to have one during my first pregnancy. This book really really helps me a lot. If you are a first time Mom full of worries, anxiety on every thing that is happening in your body, and have no clue what is going on, this book will help you. Of course educating yourself about pregnancy, by reading through the Internet, books and joining forums and meeting other mothers will greatly help.


These book give you tips on the following:

1. Your week by week pregnancy, what is happening to your body, to your baby, and what to expect. Of course not all women experience the same thing !

2. Tips on do's and dont's during pregnancy.

3. Exercise, Diet, and food supplements.

4. What to expect on your first and succeeding visits.

5. How your actions affect your baby.

6. Tips for Dads.

7. Discuss current medical problems or medications while pregnant.

8. Type of tests that you should or not get.

9. Other topics related to pregnancy.

This book mostly covers everything. It is well written and easy to understand. I don't make campaign about this book. Just want to share to other expecting Mother how this book had helped me during my first pregnancy.

In my something months in this world of blogging, I found some blog that are uber amazing ! They are

Does giving incentives to your kids still works ?

Do you still believed that giving incentives to your kids works ? Parents tend to give incentives to their children if they want them to perform well, that might be at home, in school or any other activities. But incentives does not always works with kids right ? I wonder what parents usually do if this thing does not work ?

I have made a deal with my niece, a grade 5 student that if she grab the top 4 of her class, she will received a gift from me. Some sort of incentives for all her hard work. She is a very good student, always been part of the top 10 students of her class but never made it to the top 5. She is smart, but sometimes too lazy to study, so I challenged her to do better this time.

So here we go !!! It's almost graduation time and I heard from her Mom (who is my sister) that she is really working hard on all her exams. For the last three grading, she made it to the top 4 of her class, now it's the final grading and evaluation of over all standing of students. She really is putting extra effort to get that incentives. I think she wants to proved to me as well that she can do it !!! Go girl !

Now, this kind of trick works with an almost teenager. But how about in a toddler like Gabz ? I have tried it a couple of times but it looks like it has no effect on her. For instance, I would asked her to eat and after that she could watch or play any games she wants. If she does not want to eat, everything I say fall on deaf ears, but after a while she would start bugging me to play or watch something, as if I did not say anything. No matter how I tried to blackmail or bribe (you can use any term you want) her, seems not working. She is a picky eater and sometimes I ran out of ideas how to feed her.

On the other hand, this trick works with her to clean up her toys if she wants to play in my computer. So I guess, it all depends on how much they wanted certain things. A little incentives, bribes from time to time does really works. Right Moms ?

But in times where incentives does not work, what do you do ?

I got this BAG / PURSE tag from Dhemz of My Life's Perception. Frankly speaking I am not a purse type of person, I mean I'm not really particular about brand or type of purse I have. One thing I know is that I like big Bag !

Hmmm, this bag was a gift from hubby. I think he got it for USD600 ? not so sure though, that was more than a year ago. But look at the condition of the bag, I guess it has served its time already. I used it most of the time, because it is big and very convenient. I could put Gabz milk, snacks, diaper, wipes, make up, camera, cellphone, my huge wallet and whatever things I could think to bring. I think hubby's 600 has double its worth in this bag !!!!

Now, I want to know what bag/purse is Kaye, Tetcha, Eva and Phoebe has! It's your turn guys....Have fun !


Do you still love to write ?
Do you know that I seldom write anything in a paper ever since this computer and Internet thing evolve ? Of course aside from writing down grocery lists and our week's menu's once a week. Aside from that almost everything I wrote in a computer. You know why ? my penmanship suck ! that's why.

Running out of ideas for your toddlers ?

Did it ever happened to you that you run out of ideas what kind of activities you could give to your toddler to entertain her ? or what kind of toys would capture her fascination ?

Being inside the house all day long is not easy for a toddler who has magnitude of energies, they usually get bored at the end of the day. Since Gabz loves to play pretend at this stage, she is very much busy almost the whole day. Playing pretend is good for kids since it stimulates their imagination and creativity. So I was planning on buying her some toys that would be part of her play pretend collections. I'm a PRINCESS !

In every girls life there comes a point where we wanted to be a princess or pretend that we are a princess. Playing pretend is one of the most favorite play of every child. You will be surprised and amazed how far their imagination could go. Gabz is in that stage right now, our life everyday is very royalty ! The moment she wakes up in the morning until she sleeps at night, she is wearing this princess stuff. So every day she wears them together with her Cinderella dress, even if it needs washing. If you wash it you have to finish it soon because she wants to wear them over and over.



Have you noticed what is missing in this picture ? Yes, a crown !!! The crown does not go with the package, so she said that Daddy will gonna buy one as soon as he comes home. For the time being, the necklace could be a crown too. Hmmm have you ever thought about that ?

Oh well, i just wonder how long are we gonna be in this stage. She just loves it for now !
