I found out today that our auto insurance expired yesterday. With a new baby in the house, this kind of thing just slipped into my mind. Good thing that our auto insurance policy has automatic renewal. I made a call this morning to make sure that they have renewed our policy as of today, and good thing that they did. But how I wish I had enough time to ask for quotations around for new rates from different insurance companies to make sure that I got a great deal with this renewal.

Every time we need to renew our auto insurance, or even when we were looking for a homeowners insurance, we always asked at least two quotations from different insurance companies. It is always good to explore different kinds of options just to make sure that you get the best deal at the same time you save money.

Not blogging for the time being....

Hello guys, it's been a week now since I last updated my blog. I feel so crappy, not in the mood to think and even blog hop. I felt pain everywhere and contractions just come and go. I'm sure all mommies out there, knows what I'm talking about. I am supposed to deliver my baby 17th of this month but until now I am still here. She is still taking her time, she is the master of her own schedule and no words, nor exercise can let her come out.

My doctor scheduled an Induction of Labor this Thursday....but I am still hoping that she will come out on her own before Thursday.

Gabz first day in School

Today, is Gabz first day in school together with her BFF, Danica and Jericha. They started on lunch when they arrived in school and after that it's play..play...and other activities. She is excited to go to school. While driving, she keep on asking me, "Mommy, are we almost there?"

I was not able to pick her up though, as Maricel volunteered to pick up the kids. I was not able to asked her teacher, how she did on her first day. Starting tomorrow, I will be the chauffeur of these kids (3) (that, if I did not deliver yet).

My Seafood Kare Kare

Have you heard of Seafood Kare Kare? Kare kare is one of the famous dish in Philippines, made of Beef or Beef stripe. When we were visiting some friends in LA, they brought us in this Filipino restaurant who serve the famous Seafood Kare kare. I never heard of seafood kare kare before that, so I was quite curious. And when I tried it, oh men! I said to myself I have to learn how to cook this one. It was so yummy! So, when we came back here in Seattle, I bought some seafood and kare kare mix, and here it goes! My husband love it, so I must have cooked it right.

Ingredients is very simple:

crabs
clams
shrimp
chicken breast
eggplant
bokchoy
long beans
kare kare mix
peanut butter

Just follow the instructions on how to cooked at the back of Mama Sita's Kare kare mix, and you are good to go.

My Next Project

Summer is always a good season to enjoy life outdoor. You can do a lot of activities outside with your family; either going to camping, hiking, going to the beach or having barbecue with your friends in the backyard. It is always nice to entertain friends in your house just to catch up on things and relax.

We Filipinos, love to gather always over food, karaoke and little talk. Now that we just bought a house, my husband loves to invite friends over. How I wish we have Patio Dining Sets so we can have dinner with friends outdoor and enjoy the summer heat here in Seattle, that last only for three months.

This Wicker Furniture is ideal for our patio. Aside from being chic and elegant, can be use inside the house too once summer is over. Being a person who came from a tropical country, I love wicker, or what we called native furniture. It makes you feel in touch with nature and enjoy outdoor atmosphere.

Now, I know what my next project will be, to save money and buy a nice, good outdoor furniture for our patio. So, when summer comes, we can entertain our friends and relatives over barbecue, wine or just a cup of coffee.

I'm on STRIKE!

My computer is on strike since yesterday. Just shut off herself after Gabz finished playing. I cannot turn it on no matter what I did, nor my husband. Just learned from my mother in law that Gabz dropped it the second time around the other day. Maybe that is the reason why my computer decided to go on strike. She feels that nobody ever takes good care of her. (and that's what my husband used to say too) He was always telling me to clean my computer after Gabz finished playing, because sometimes she plays with it and her hands are dirty, that leave a lot of smudges on my laptop.

Right now, I am trying to snatch my husbands laptop just to blog. I have to check where could I have it repaired! Oh, I hope they can still recover my hard drive, because all our 2009 pictures are there and a lot more!

My husband is quite pissed off, I could tell :-)

My Kitchen Wish List

People who love to cook and spend a lot of time in the kitchen will fall in love with a house or place that has a kitchen that is fully equipped. I remember when we were shopping for a house, one of the decisive factors is to have a beautiful kitchen with built in cabinets, granite counter tops, built in appliances and an island counter. And I got all of these features in our house. You are inspired to cook when you have all the things you need right beside you. But of course not all the kitchen appliances are there, there are a lot more I need to buy.

Just like this slow cooker below, I wanted to buy one of this a long time ago. You know why? Because when you have kids, and a house you always have to juggle your time, this slow cooker helps a lot. It saves you time in cooking at the same time does not sacrifice the quality of food you serve for your family. Especially with my husband who always wanted to have his food serve warm.

Another appliance I wish we have is a built in trash compactor. Just like this one, isn't it neat?

It would be nice not to smell those left over that you stash in the waste basket. I don't have to argue with my husband if who will empty the trash every evening. This trash compactor will make my life a little bit better.

Gabz first visit @ the Dentist

Yesterday, Gabz had her first visit at the Dentist office. Prior to the doctor's visit, I was telling her that we need to go to the doctor so she can check if her teeth have worms and cavities. She loves to brush her teeth and sometimes she flossed too. But the thing is she wants to do it by herself, especially the flossing.

So, when we were at the doctors' office, she had her picture taken with a big smile on her face. The doctor let her sat at the big chair and introduced a game. She made up a game of magic straw, Mr. Tooth Tickler, Mr. Wind and Mr. Squirt. She was having fun playing. She chooses what color of toothbrush to use and flavor of toothpaste. She was so proud of her new toothbrush. Even when they were trying to get an x-ray of her teeth, she was giggling, because the doctor is so silly she said. Throughout the x-ray process, I was just outside the door watching her. I could see that she was not afraid nor any apprehension on what is going on.

All in all, she did a good job! She was so proud that her teeth had neither worms nor cavities. The doctor gave her a toy magic wand as a reward for her good behavior. She keeps showing her pearly white teeth to her Lola and Lolo while we were on the car going home.
