The most awaited boxing fight of the year is about to happen on March 13, 2010 at MGM Las Vegas between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

This will be the most exciting fight of the century between two of the best boxer of the world. Manny Pacquiao who is the pride of the Filipino people, changed boxing sports into an exciting event, the only boxer who holds the world record with seven different boxing title in seven different division. On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather is also considered the number one pound for pound boxer in the world in his division. Undefeated with 40 wins with 25 knockouts. Two of the best in the field of boxing. Who will win in this most awaited fight ? If you ask me, I will definitely say Manny Pacquiao of course !!! My family, especially my husband is Pacquiao's number one fan. We always hosted every Pacquiao's fight for our friends and family who wanted to see the fight. Every time Pacquiao had a fight, all our Filipino friends gathered and brought food and drinks. How I wish we could see him fight live in the ring!

I can't wait for the day to come. We are all looking forward for this fight and my husband is already planning another get together just for this event. I am sure this is another exciting fight!

Bonding Time

The best way to spend time with family, trying to do the 3d puzzle brought by Kuya Bong from Australia. We had so much fun!

My husband pretending as if he already got a headache trying to solve this complicated puzzle. Did I mention that it is a 500 pcs 3D puzzle? This is 3D and that makes it more complicated.


Up to this moment, we are still doing it. I will post a finish picture sometime this week. Who knows how many days it would take for us to finish this.

Mead Johnson, Maker of Enfamil, Loses Multi-Million Dollar False Advertising Case Against Store-Bran

GORDONSVILLE, VA., December 2 , 2009—PBM Products, LLC, a leading infant formula company that supplies store-brand infant formulas to Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Kroger, Walgreens, and other retailers, has received a favorable jury verdict and a $13.5 million damages award in its false advertising lawsuit against Mead Johnson & Co., the operating subsidiary of Mead Johnson Nutrition Company (NYSE: MJN) (“Mead Johnson”), the makers of the national-brand Enfamil® LIPIL® Infant Formula. Mead Johnson is 83 percent-owned by Bristol-Myers Squibb.

PBM’s lawsuit claimed that Mead Johnson engaged in false and misleading campaigns against PBM’s competing store-brand of infant formulas, suggesting they do not provide the same nutrition as Mead Johnson’s brands. PBM’s store-brand infant formulas cost up to 50 percent less than Enfamil® LIPIL®. The $13.5 million in damages awarded by the jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is one of the largest damages awards ever for a false advertising case.

“This decision by a jury of the people confirms that Mead Johnson’s ads have been false in suggesting that there is a nutritional difference between our store-brand formula products and their products, when in fact the only major difference is price,” said PBM CEO Paul B. Manning. “Despite Mead Johnson’s scare tactics, parents are assured that PBM’s formula products are as high quality and nutritious as Mead Johnson’s.”

U.S. District Court Judge James R. Spencer issued his written rulings yesterday following the November 10^th jury verdict. Judge Spencer’s written rulings permanently enjoined Mead Johnson from making any false statements concerning PBM's infant formula, including the claims Mead Johnson previously made in Enfamil advertising that "It may be tempting to try a less expensive store brand, but only Enfamil LIPIL is clinically proven to improve brain and eye development," and "there are plenty of other ways to save on baby expenses without cutting back on nutrition." The Court also ordered Mead Johnson to retrieve from the public domain all advertising or promotional materials containing these or any other false claims about PBM's store brand infant formula.

The nutritional supplements under examination in the case are two fats, DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and ARA (arachidonic acid), which Mead Johnson calls “LIPIL®” solely for marketing purposes and touts as promoting infant brain and eye development. PBM’s claim focused on Mead Johnson’s direct mailing to more than 1.6 million parents of an alarming blurry picture of a child’s cartoon duck next to a clear picture of the same image which suggested that anything other than the Enfamil LIPIL® blend of ingredients is inferior and will result in poor eye and brain development. Other parts of the false advertising campaign consist of statements that only Enfamil LIPIL has been proven to confer visual and mental benefits on infants, and store-brand formulas are a “cut-back in nutrition” compared to Enfamil.

PBM successfully argued that these advertisements were false and misleading especially since PBM store- brand infant formulas have the same nutrients at the same levels as Enfamil. PBM infant formulas are formulated to contain DHA and ARA, and are sourced from the same supplier in amounts which equal or exceed the DHA and ARA in Mead Johnson’s Enfamil LIPIL®.

This decision marks the third time PBM Products has sued Mead Johnson for false advertising claims. On the prior occasions Mead Johnson admitted that it made false claims about PBM’s products. It is also the first false advertising case to focus on the issue of DHA and ARA nutritional ingredients in formula, which were introduced into the market in 2003 and have become a staple in recent years by many brands as key components for infant development.

“This jury verdict should send a significant and clear message to Mead Johnson about the way it conducts marketing and advertising for its brands,” said Manning. “This lawsuit also demonstrates our complete commitment to defending our products and the valuable brands of our retail partners.”

“As a parent and supporter of children’s medical research, I take a personal responsibility in assuring our customers that the products we produce are healthy and nutritionally equivalent to brand names like Enfamil® LIPIL®. It is important, especially now, for parents to know that there are lower priced yet highly nutritious store-brand formulas that will provide the same benefit to their children as any national brand name formula product,” Manning added.

The U.S. infant formula market is estimated at $3.4 billion and the global market is estimated at $7.9 billion.

All of PBM’s formulas, and for that matter all of U.S. infant formulas, are subject to the exacting standards of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), pursuant to the Infant Formula Act of 1980. This legislation vested FDA with the authority to ensure that all infant formula products sold in the United States provide the necessary levels of identified nutrients required for the growth of healthy babies. First Snow Fall 2009

Look at Gabz having fun catching the snow falling. This was the first snow fall this year here in Renton. Because of so much excitement, she forgot to wear her shoes! But she is not complaining, she could walk barefoot no matter how cold it is.

She loves snow a lot! We were expecting more snow on the next day, unfortunately the weather has changed. Until now we don't have any snow yet. Gabz is really looking forward to the snow because she wants to make a snow man again. We made one in our apartment parking lot last year. She even made snow angel!

This morning we had our first flurry of snow in the backyard. It was so beautiful, setting aside how much cold it is. We will be expecting more snow later today until tomorrow. Winter has begun, can't wait to play in the snow and build snow man in the backyard with Gabz! Last week it was only in the mountains, but the snow has come down here in Renton!

Gabz went home today bringing this beautiful Gingerbread House. She made this in school today. I was so proud of her, the house is beautiful!

When I was taking picture of her project, she was asking me, "Mommy take my picture with the Gingerbread House!" So there she is taking a pose with her project.

Pike Place Seattle

Pike Place Market is internationally recognized as America's premier market. The Market as what local people call it, attracts more than 10 million visitors every year. This is one of the famous destination in Washington. It has 200 year-round commercial businesses; 190 craftspeople and 120 farmers who rent table space by the day; 240 street performers and musicians who renders music in every corner of the street. Pike Place Market is very famous for it's seafood, vegetable and other variety of products by the local farmers.

There is one restaurant that is famous for it's clam chowder soup. This is where we love to eat after a stroll at the market.

Another great destination!

Every year my family tried to plan a vacation, either inside or outside the country. This year we went to Lake Chelan with a little side trip in Leavenworth. This month we will be in Las Vegas for another family vacation. Vacation is something we always planned and look forward to, because this is the best time to explore other places and to experience new things.

When we were in the East Coast area, we lived, visited and explore various states, from Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. One thing we missed though, visiting New Hampshire. We heard that New Hampshire is another great destination for a family vacation. The Balsams is a New Hampshire hotel that is famous for its great dining experience. Food are serve fresh and menus changes every night and presented table d' hôte style. Men should wear dinner jacket before they could savor the unique experience The Balsams offers. The Balsams Grand resort and Hotel is also known for its own world class culinary school. Aside from all of that, your family will surely enjoy cross-country ski trails, alpine ski area, the terrain park and the 9 or 18 hole championship golf course.

While browsing through their website I could not help but be mesmerized and fascinated by the pictures and the things they could offer. How I wish we were able to visit them when we were in the East Coast. But who knows, maybe someday this will be our next family destination!

Bellevue Square Snow Flakes Lane

We just got back from Bellevue Square a while ago to watched the nightly parade at snowflake lane. Every year starting from November 27 to December 24 they have evening performance of live toy soldier drummer, lots of singing and dancing. They have this performances every 7:00 o'clcok in the evening along Bellevue Way in downtown Bellevue. Lots of people especially kids watched this parade.

Yesterday, I was going through a pile of our junk mails and noticed an envelop from Strong Moms. Two months ago, after I gave birth to Andi and decided that we will be using formula for her, I registered to Similac.com. Anyway, I found in the envelop four pieces of five dollar checks under my name. Wow! I did not expect them to send some to me. Last month I received three 5 dollars coupon from them as well. I was so happy because, we are buying four cans (Costco size) of Similac for Andi every month. The month of December is the busiest month for us, so many occasions to celebrate. The Grotto - Portland, Oregon

Last Thanksgiving weekend, my family went to The Grotto at Portland, Oregon. The Grotto is the national name of the National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother.

The heart of the shrine is Our Lady’s Grotto, a rock cave carved into the base of a 110-foot cliff. A life-size marble replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà is featured in its center.

The Grotto provides welcoming environment, the beautiful trees and flowers that surrounds the entire 62-acre sanctuary. The way of the cross are carve on the stones and are scattered all over the place.

The beautiful garden in the middle of the place provides serenity and peacefulness.

Another thing I admired is the religious wood carving depicting the life of Jesus.

It was another lifetime experienced for all of us. It was a three hours drive from Seattle, yet it was all worth it.

I love my first Christmas present....

The other day we saw a big box of present outside our door. When we checked it out, it was from Gabz godfather. She got her first Christmas present this year. So early huh? When we opened it, there was a book titled 100 Favorite Bible Verses and a Christmas card for me and hubby. When I opened the book I was so delighted because it has all the good verses with matching explanation on it. The first verse I read the moment I opened it is this:

"See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand."

God's timing is always perfect! From a human vantage point, it isn't always easy to recognize that opportune moment. Waiting for God's answer, when your internal timer has already gone off, can make you feel as if God isn't listening or simply doesn't care.

This lines makes me realized that I have been asking something from God and until now He has not granted that wish. It teaches me to be patient, because He will give things in His own time!

I will look for this book because I wanted to give this as a present to my other friends. A great gift to a friend and a great present for me this season.
